How Important is Movement?

We love our children and want the best for them. We are always looking for things that can aid in their development. The benefits of movement and motor skill development are essential to a healthy body.

With today’s lifestyle, we are faced with a movement deficiency problem. We depend too much time in cars, watching television, playing video games, texting, and surfing the web. Kids are less active and tend to sit and lie-down more often compared to when their parents were kids. Our children are growing up performing less movement and having fewer opportunities to move freely. Physical movement is an instinctive, natural, and necessary for physical fitness.

Our class also aids in social, emotional, and cognitive development. At Dynamic Gymnastics, we utilize gymnastics skills, exercise, games, the trampoline, and dancing movement to challenge children and encourage regular physical routines.

Our program is focused on the whole child to promote fitness, self-esteem, self-confidence, and goal-oriented accomplishments. This approach significantly aids in mental development by rewarding results and providing challenges to improve the plasticity of the brain to enable future success. All children need movement with our gymnastics to be physically healthy and have nurturing mental and emotional effect.

Terrific Twos Program

early age gymnasticsClasses are for boys and girls from 18 months to 3 years old for a 45 minutes session. The children may be accompanied by an adult (parent or guardian). For children 2-year-olds or less who are not quite ready to work in a group, must have their mom in the observation area may participate in this class. Our coaches will instruct both the adults and children.

With our facilities, students can perform planned movements that are safe, challenging, and fun. Movement routines will help their physical growth, coordination, and agility. Our coach will also engage the children in activities with other children.

We encourage parents to bring a snack and drink for their child and make full use of our upstairs meeting area. Our upstairs meeting area is a place where parents can supervise and observe their children during a gymnastics session. Each parent will receive a guide on how they can be more effective when participating in a child-parent class.

We will teach our students to play a variety of games that help improve coordination, balance, strength, and motor skills. These activities are the foundation of gymnastics and the basis for all future physical education classes, sports, and fitness training. The gymnastic equipment used in the session includes the beam, spring floor, bars, trampoline, in-ground foam pits, floor, and different floor mats.

Preschool Program

In our gymnastics classes for children 3 through 4 years old, children will find that fitness can be fun. We design our program to teach physical skills and build a positive self-image through accomplishments. Our balanced program of gymnastics and fitness activities are sure to keep our youngsters cheerful, confident, and enthusiastic. In our reception area, upon request, we have an outline of the specific skills that are appropriate for this age level.

Our class is for boys and girls and is 55-minutes in duration. We will introduce basic gymnastics skills, flexibility, coordination, balance, and strength through a progression of safe gymnastics. During the session, students will use the balance beams, bars, vault, spring floor, trampoline, and in-ground foam pits. We will also play music, play games, and dance to teach some of the skills and discipline necessary to achieve simple gymnastics. Children with a keen interest in gymnastics may want to attend two classes per week. These students will be considered for pre-team. Parents may consult with the Club Manager, Tom Brophy, for more information.
